Anyone been to this event before what's it like,age range,atmosphere,

 I have been for the last 2years, and I love it the atmosphere is great, and the venue also. It is alos close to Yarmouth if you like the sea. Eileen

yes its a great week of elvis party time and this year the tcb band are there plus lots of other bands etc and this year an elvis quiz to enter

I went last year for the first time and enjoyed the week in general. However, compared to Kelvin Ford's Elvis Week at Hemsby, I did feel that it lacked atmosphere at times; some of the DJ's did very little talking and, in my opinion, didn't project the personality required; it is all about the Elvis music but a good DJ can really whip the atmosphere up and get people involved. I also disliked the fact that there was a general knowledge quiz in the afternoon, rather than an Elvis one; I understand that this is being rectified. The TCB band will obviously be a big draw this year and certainly make Ed Bonja and PJ Proby, the guests last year, look small fry by comparison. My overall impression was that Arena are a travel company running an Elvis event and whilst some of the staff may be Elvis fans, this didn't come across very strongly, as I believe that it does at the Hemsby event, where there is a real sense of an Elvis family. That is my honest opinion - you pays your money, you takes your choice.

Hi Aaron some well made points about yarbo.I went to kelvins hemsby about 12 years ago enjoyed it but knew more people from Mablethorpe weeks which I went to from 1996 to this latest move to yarmouth.Nice pics with Priscilla where were they taken ? I should get to meet her this year doing the tcb cruise in Oct.I think more people will be at Yarmouth this year hopefully making for a bigger buzz cheers barry

I love Yarmouth. Aces! Great site, clean, modern, great food places, brill bar and restaraunt and good location. THe entertainment is all good to. Aaron - you hit the nail on the head brother, Arena were just a travel company running an Elvis event but now they're not running it - The Elvis Travel Service / Strictly Elvis are doing it all and these guys are serious Elvis fans, thats what they do for a living and have years of Elvis experience. I belled their office the other day and they've promised much, much more with loads more Elvis activities and events in the week as well - this year will be massive with the TCB band. I think last year there were quite a few peeps not there as they had gone on the 35th tour just a few weeks beffore (jammy gits!). I can't wait - gonna be great! So come on people - get involved. Elvis Festival 2013 - Bring it on!

Prisiclla pics were taken in Wimbledon where she appeared in panto. Hope you enjoy Yarmouth; be good to see you at Hemsby as well sometime.

Some good points made but 'the times, they are a'changin' and this years Elvis Festival at Great Yarmouth will have the best of the old plus lots of new things too, including themed days and more non-stop Elvis.We try to use lots of DJ's to give more of them a chance - they are all genuine fans and put on a great night - personally I don't like to hear too much 'DJ chat' as it's Elvis I'd prefer to listen to. Each to his (or her) own tho' and we do try to cater to everyone. As for the Guests, if the Elvis Travel Service or Essential Elvis didn't bring them over then who would nowadays? It's an expensive exercise but we believe worth it as they are still such a tangible connection with Elvis - and we have few enough left as it is. Over the years we have brought over most of Elvis' friends and musicians or people who had an extra special 'link' with Elvis. One such, Janelle McComb, who was like a second mother to Elvis and without whom much of his Tupelo heritage would have been lost, loved her visit here and always regaled her family and friends with stories of coming to our big Elvis Festival. It was nice that she enjoyed the visit as much as we enjoyed having her. The Elvis Festival is still the biggest and the best and all the time it's in the hands of the people who started it - the Elvis Travel Service - it will remain so. I promise.
