Super UK Elvis Fan Rex Martin has been found dead at his home in Blackpool. Rex was responsible for producing the Elvis News Service Bulletins during the late 60's and 70's. Rex and I go back a long way and he was a true gent in every sense of the word and a loyal fan who saw many Elvis Concerts and filmed/recorded quite a few.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His website was one of the best and can be viewed here:

Before the internet Rex was one of the people we relied upon to give us our Elvis news. His first hand knowledge and insight into the Elvis world captured our imagination and kept us all enthralled. A sad day for Elvis fans as another piece of Elvis UK history disappears.

Sad news , l remember his name from fan club  articles .. Don't know if l have ever met him but he lives a short drive away from me or did ...seen pictures of him in fan club annuals ..Rest in peace  and blessings to his family on this sad time

Hi Brian - thanks for this, I knew Rex in the early seventies and distributed the bulletins through the Elvis Presley Information Service we ran at the time - in those days he was down in Cheltenham and worked for a printer thus the print opportunity. Rex was one of the key players along with Albert Hand and Todd to deliver for Elvis in the UK and a decent guy to boot.

RIP and happy days with Elvis in the world beyond!!

so sad but im sure Elvis will be there for you, sleep well.
