Lisa Marie Presley and the death of Michael Jackson

Following the death of Michael Jackson, Lisa Marie Presley opened up in her personal blog, stating that Michael claimed he would die young, like her father Elvis.
With all the media hype doing the rounds since Michael Jacksons death, Lisa's blog provides a very personal insight to their relationship and is quite moving to read.

If she loved him, where was she during his trial? Not ONE of his friends supported him, with the exception of Elizabeth Taylor. Now they all say 'i love him...' really? if someone I loved was taking that much medication I'd do something about it... if someone I loved was wrongly accused of such a disgusting crime I'd speak out supporting them... she didnt... nor did Uri Geller, Ross, or any of the others who are now charging high fees for interviews (again, they would go to the charities he supported if they loved him...)....

I read her blog and I thought as an ex-wife it was a nice thing to do. She highlighted that she had to stay back because of her kids and protecting them. I don't think we can judge anyone in this case as we don't know what kind of support she would perhaps have given behind the scenes. Also MJ's own sister highlighted that she wouldn't cover for him.

Don't forget LMP has had a difficult and confusing life, so I couldn't judge her

To be honest I really like MJ"s music and he was a fantastic dancer/entertainer, but I still can't make up my mind about those stories. I often in the past felt guilty for playing Billy Jean etc... incase I was listening to someone who has abused children. I really don't know. I think if the stories are false then those kids and parents have alot to think about and I hope they stay out of the media - if they do come forward then perhaps there is the answer to my question.

There will always be conflict on this issue.

I read her blog and found it very moving. How do we know who supported MJ during his trial behind the scenes? We don't. And, please don't take offence at this, you're very lucky that you've never had to see someone you love become addicted to medication - believe me, its easy to say that you'd do something about it but when the reality bites it's a whole different situation. Again, how do we know that they're charging high fees and what they're doing with the money if they are getting paid? I'm very wary of making any assumptions regarding MJ's death, I was never a fan, thought the guy was very odd, but, as Elvis fans, we all know how people can poke fun, start rumours and degrade the memory of a great man, but for all of that, we will never know the whole truth so we should always keep an open mind xx

I agree with some of what has been said and I respect everyone's opinions, I jsut like to throw a spanner in the works. But all I know is that if someone I loved was falsely accused of such things I would publically do everything I could to clear their name... I think most respectable people would.

Like or loathe Jackson, he was a megastar, one of the few people who can ever carry that title. Like with Elvis (and Al Jolson before him), when he died the music industry knew it would never be the same again. It's ironic that these people become more famous in death, isn't that cruel? Dying is the best career move they ever make! Let's hope that they can see their legacy remain!
